Managing Configurations and Capturing Serial Numbers
Configuration Management
We can receive hardware or electronics and configure the products to meet customer specifications. Examples of configuration projects include uploading software onto wireless hubs, preloading software and IP information for computers, programming chips for upgrades, changing software on modems, and providing incoming go/no-go testing for hard drives.
We can configure the product upon receipt, during or in connection with an assembly project, or upon shipping.
Configuration typically takes place in an ESD environment.
Serial Number Capture
For some customers, such as electronics, hardware and software companies, it is important to capture serial numbers or other numbers at different stages of the process. We provide mobile serial number capture, allowing our staff to scan serial numbers at any step in the process. This also enables us to upload information into our systems real-time, including during receiving, during configuration, during assembly, and during shipping. We can also match serial numbers to other codes, including licensing codes.
Customers can access a searchable report online on ALOM's DRIVE™ Extranet and search by serial number or other characteristics of the product or shipment.
